Making Movies Biography
Making Movies is a Kansas City-based band known for blending alternative rock with Latin rhythms and influences. The group's music draws on its members' Mexican and Panamanian heritage, creating a distinctive sound that crosses musical boundaries. Their releases include A La Deriva and Ameri'kana, with songs such as “Cuna de Vida” reflecting the band's socially conscious approach.
The band is scheduled to perform at Mercury Lounge - NY in New York on November 17, 2026. This intimate Lower East Side venue offers a chance to experience Making Movies' layered arrangements and energetic, rhythm-led sound in a close-up setting. The New York stop is listed as a single event, so fans planning to attend may want to check ticket availability early. Prices currently start around $40, with final costs varying by availability and seat or standing-room options.
Venue and Seating Information
Mercury Lounge - NY is a compact live-music venue in Manhattan's Lower East Side, a neighborhood with a long-running independent music scene and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Its intimate scale places the audience close to the stage, making the room well suited to a band whose performance combines vocals, guitar, and percussion.
Expect a close-range concert experience rather than a large, tiered arena layout. Arriving early can help attendees find a preferred viewing position, particularly for guests who want a clear sightline near the stage. Check the event's ticket details for the specific admission arrangement and any accessibility information.
Parking Information
Parking in the Lower East Side can be limited, and street spaces may be difficult to find during busy evening hours. Consider reserving a nearby garage in advance and confirm its current rates, hours, and vehicle restrictions before leaving.
- Look for commercial garages in the Lower East Side or nearby East Village, and compare walking distance with the total parking cost.
- Street parking may be available, but carefully check posted signs, meter rules, and time limits; allow extra time if searching for a space.
